Gum Disease Claims
Periodontal disease, more commonly known as gum disease or gingivitis, should be detected and treated early by dentists. If you are having regular check-ups, your dentist will advise you of preventative treatment and how to manage a mild case of gum disease.
If this is not the case and it is left, periodontal disease can be a very painful condition, which can lead to the removal of teeth and damage to the bone in your jaw.
You may have experienced negligence if your dentist has not done the following things:
- Offered you regular x-rays
- Advised you that you have gum disease
- Advised you on best oral hygiene practices, such as how to brush your teeth correctly
- Scheduled regular appointments with the hygienist
If your dentist has failed to help you prevent periodontal disease, our panel solicitors may be able to help you pursue a claim for negligence.

Can I sue the NHS?
The NHS was created so that good healthcare should be available to all, and it is one of the country’s proudest achievements. However, if something goes wrong during your treatment you deserve answers and, where necessary, financial compensation.
We do not treat your claim lightly. The treatment you consider negligent must be considered unreasonable, irresponsible, and harmful.
However, when someone suffers an injury that impacts their live, or that of a loved one, then it is vital that the NHS has the procedures in place to both compensate the patient and learn from their mistakes.
